Passionate about the film and television industry and want the inside story on producing? Keen to know which producing role is right for you? Or, are you in a producer adjacent field (writer, director, actor) and would like a glimpse into the multi-faceted world of production?

Screenworks' Producing Pathways: Find Your Path is a three-part online series, breaking down three distinct producing roles in the Australian screen industry (Independent Feature Producer, Development Producer, Digital Producer) and looking at how producing differs across film, television and digital content.

Hear from experienced industry practitioners including Tristram Baumber (Independent Feature Producer), Bec Cubitt (Head of Scripted, Lingo Pictures) and Alyce Adams (Digital Producer), who will share insights into working in their respective fields.

As NAIDOC Week begins, applications have just opened for the all-new First Nations Screen Business Accelerator Lab!

From Indigenous Business Australia, Screen Australia, with support from Screen Queensland, the program provides industry-leading mentorship and targeted business development support to First Nations-owned screen businesses facilitated by Queensland's No Coincidence. The Accelerator Lab focuses on building capability in business strategy, slate development, financial planning and market readiness.

Learn the production ropes while prioritising accessibility and inclusion through Bus Stop Films' Inclusive Producers Attachment program!

Screen Queensland is supporting three local, emerging producers—two based in Brisbane/Gold Coast and one based in Cairns—to participate, gaining experience working on the production of short films created by local students in Bus Stop Films' Accessible Filmmaking Program. Filming takes place this August.

Filming takes place this August and we encourage producers from CALD, Deaf/Disabled, First Nation and LGBTQI+ communities to apply.

Last week, our team in Cairns connected with 5000 students, job seekers and those looking for a career change at the Cairns Careers Expo!

We got to share many of the behind-the-scenes roles that are vital to our screen industry and visitors had the chance to test VR games, dabble in special effects makeup and test out a camera and greenscreen, learning some framing and lighting techniques along the way.

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with people from across Carins, Atherton Tablelands and Cassowary Coast regions as we continue to build our talent base in Far North Queensland. Thanks for having us Business Liaison Association!
