I am so grateful to Latrobe City Council and Gippsland Cardiology Service for believing in the healing power of art and nature.
This mural shows two special Australian plants: Kangaroo Paw and Banksia.
What makes them amazing is that they are born from the smoke and fire of the bush.
After fierce bushfires or freezing winters, these plants do not just survive, they come back stronger than before.
The heat of the fire opens the Banksiaβs cones to release its seeds, while the chemical power of the smoke awakens the Kangaroo Paw seeds buried in the soil.
They show us that new life can begin, even in the hardest moments.
I chose these flowers for the Gippsland Cardiology Service because I see them as a symbol of the courage and recovery found inside this centre.
Thank you again to Latrobe City Council and Gippsland Cardiology Service for letting me share this story.
These flowers are proof that in nature, blossoming is possible even after the hardest times.
