For this Month’s Producer in Focus we have someone who, you could argue, has had a bigger impact on Drum & Bass/Jungle that anyone else in scene – Goldie.

BBoy, Graffiti Artist, Founder of the legendary Metalheadz label (along with Kemistry & Storm), Producer, DJ, Actor and MBE.

Goldie has been pivotal in the scene since the early 90’s with hardcore and darkcore releases under his Rufige Kru alias.
Terminator was one of these. Released in 1992, it was the first track to use timestretching and paved the way for that darker tech-driven sounds of jungle/ drum and bass that would follow.
In 1995 he released his debut album Timeless, which is regarded as one of the greatest Drum & Bass albums ever produced.
This mix concentrates on the time period between '92 & '97 and features solo work, remixes and colabs (The Two 2 G's, Internal Affairs)

This months Label In Focus is RENEGADE HARDWARE '96-'98.
The label was set up in 1995 by Clayton Hines and Mark Hill, with their vision being to create a label that would stay true to its sound and develop up and coming artists in the scene.
Over the years they have been responsible for some of the darkest, hardest, Amen filled bangers around and the label is one of the pioneers of the Atmospheric Techstep sound of the mid 90's.

For this months Producer in Focus we shine the spotlight on another of the scenes legends - DJ Die
Co-Founder/Owner of Full Cycle Records/Dope Dragon alongside Roni Size, DJ Krust & Suv and now running his own label Gutterfunk. He was a core member of the collective, Reprazent that won the Mercury Music Prize in 1997 for the album New Forms and among those who laid the foundations, stamping that 'Bristol Sound' on the music they were creating.

This months Label In Focus is Full Cycle Records.
The Bristol-based Drum and Bass label founded in 1993 by Roni Size, DJ Krust, DJ Die, and Suv, originally as Full Circle before changing names after the first release (The Resister / Music Box) , to Full Cycle.
It has become a cornerstone of the "Bristol Sound," blending jazz, funk, and dub influences with heavy basslines and is the label behind many genre defining classics.
For this mix we focus on the releases from '93 to '99.
