We're delighted to welcome Tania Crossingham - Illuminator, Heraldic Artist and Teacher to the Abbey History Festival this September.
A long-time supporter of the Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology, Tania is among the most distinguished and versatile artists working in the fields of medieval illumination and heraldic art today. Born in Australia, and now based in Finland, her practice has evolved from a mastery of traditional disciplines โ including medieval illumination, heraldic painting, and calligraphy โ into a rich contemporary body of work encompassing pencil drawing, gouache, and oil painting.
Renowned for her extraordinary precision and intricate detail, Tania's work has captivated collectors, institutions, and followers around the world. A Craft Member of the prestigious Society of Heraldic Arts in the UK, her heraldic expertise also earned her the distinguished role of Honorary Heraldic Painter to the Georgian Royal Family. Her work has been presented to Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and has featured in Warner Brothers productions and in magazines and journals internationally.
Tania will be giving presentations on Illumination and Heraldry, and you may have the opportunity to buy some of her beautiful works of art.
We're so grateful to Tania for adding us to her visit while back in Australia to celebrate 40 years of the Abbey Museum.
