Yesterday I heard that Dolly World had a section called ‘Dixie Land’. When Dolly Parton heard that people were upset by the term Dixie, that it reminded them of the Civil War, slavery, racism, she changed their name. She didn’t talk about it. She didn’t tell anyone. She just changed the name. Someone said why did you change the name and she said “I don’t wanna hurt people.” What a woman!

For the last 6 Tuesdays I’ve been back at my local, Byron School Of Art , with fab bunch of painters who have each given me something new and interesting. I wonder if they realise how inspired I have been. And of course getting to work with Michael Cusack is a bit good. Now to keep up the momentum!

I have been back at Byron School Of Art this term finally getting to work with Michael Cusack and a bunch of incredibly talented women who all have something unique to say. Who knows what will happen next but for now it’s nice to remembering the joy and pain of painting.
