War Gamers of La Trobe is a University War Gaming Club based out of Menzies College in the Bundoora Campus of La Trobe University. The War Gamers of La Trobe (Or WGoL for short) is a welcoming, university club that is always happy to meet new people.
We are very open to a variety of systems and regularly play Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000, Warmachine, Hordes and Infinity. Well everyone, unfortunately, for a variety of reasons, I am sad to announce that WGoL will be going on Hiatus for the immediate future. Rest assured that when we return we will make a big noise about it, but for the immediate future, please check out your FLGS for games.
Time for games once again! We are settling into our new room which is pretty cosy. The Silmarili is on the horizon, so there will be some games of The Hobbit going on. I also have a brand spanking new Achillies who is ready to defend the interests of Aleph in the Human Sphere. That's right! Infinity is back on the menu. Who's coming and what are you bringing?
We are back! And we have moved again because our old location is being turned into a dance studio.
A meeting will be taking placeat 6pm tonight at the Rudford Hall in Chisholm for us to get acquainted with our new digs.

No WGoL Tomorrow :( It's mid semester break so we don't have the room booked. If you're hankering for games, House of War is open for games on Friday night and Games Knight and Hampton Games club operate over the weekend.

It's game time again tomorrow and it's skirmish season with games of Batman, Malifaux and Infinity all in the offing. I hear copies of Kingdom Death's Monster are finding their way into the wild, so who knows what might be there? That's a hint Will.

So we had a very quiet week last week, are people interested in games this week?
Tomorrow it is actually business as (allegedly) usual. MCCC, normal times. It's Total Reaction (4?) on this Sunday, so come on down to get in a last minute practice game or two or play some other games!
OK, it's happened again. We are in the Airport Lounge in Glenn College again. Now for Infinity, this isn't a big deal as I still have two tables in my car from the House of War Opening last week, but it means that if we want more terrain it might be a bit of a trek.
Ed has kindly offered to bring Super Dungeon Explore, so we can get our game on without having to move heavy stuff about.
So after the excitement of not having rooms booked and the opening of The House of War, things are going to settle back down for a bit! Back to the regular place and time, lets get some games on people!

Room Bookings in their infinite wisdom have decided we can't get the MCCC and instead are in the airport lounge. All our nice heavy hard to move stuff remains in the MCCC Conference centre. As a result, WGoL will be taking a break tomorrow, but remember that LURG and CGC will still be running! They're cool dudes and dudettes and if you're hankering for some board games, then they'll be able to oblige you.

So back to business after the silliness of last week! MCCC, 5-6ish PM, Time for games! Who's jonesing for something? I believe Marcus is still looking for a game of Age of Sigmar and Andrew is looking for some 40k.

This coming Friday is SILLY GAMES DAY!
A long standing tradition, to celebrate the start of a new semester it's time to get SILLY. To celebrate the silliness of our hobbies there will be a lot of SILLY GAMES going on. We will probably have time to play "real" games later, but the emphasis is on silliness and welcoming new people. If you haven't come down before, this is the perfect day to.
WGoL will be running games like X-Wing (not that silly, but fun and quick), Super Dungeon Explore (Pretty silly, not that quick) , Dreadfleet (The silliest game GW has ever produced) and maybe more!
LURG will be running a variety of other silly games like Munchkin, Cards Against Humanity and many more!
Finally there will be NERF WARS occurring later in the evening, so break out your foam armoury and come loaded for Nerd as we will be running around and shooting each other with Nerf guns. (Well away from the miniature games)
First Friday back of semester two. Infinity, Hobbit, Batman, Dreadball warmahordes. Is this some strange new age of Skirmish gaming?
We had an amazing turnout for this Total Reaction Infinity Tournament with 24 odd (lovely) Wargamers turning up to roll dice and prove that they were the baddest dudes about. Look forward to the next Total Reaction Tournament coming soon!
It's that time again! A new semester means time for more games!
We will be in Menzies College Conference Center most of the time this semester and the Games Collective has the room booked from Midday to "Late", but as most wargamers turn up from 6PM onwards, turning up in the evening is your best chance of getting a game in. If you also dabble in RPGs, CCGs or just want to play some board games with some cool dudes and dudettes, then show up from any time after midday.
This is our first week back, so it's time to set new trends and play some games. If you haven't joined us before this is a perfect time to start! We typically play: Infinity, Warmachine/Hordes, X-Wing, Warhammer 40,000 and dabble in a lot of other systems as well. If you want a game of something, post below with your preferred system, time and points so we can sort everyone out!

We're also having the end of semester meeting at 5:30, so if you can turn up early that would be great. Tomorrow is Good Friday which means that WGoL will sadly be not running this week. Additionally Friday week is Mid-Semester Break, so we won't be running then either! Boooo University Timetable, Booooo. As a result, our next meeting will be on the 17th of April.
In the mean time, lets remember the good times we've had so far this semester.

Due to the source of wonders and delights that is University Room Bookings, we are in the Airport Lounge in Glenn College tomorrow, where we were all last year instead of in the Menzies Conference Centre. Slightly inconvenient. Still, games in the offing, fun times to be had.
Games Tomorrow Guys!
It might be a bit disorganised as we are running the VICC, an annual Team Tournament over the weekend, so anarchy as chaos will reign as we get set up. Games as usual will be happening in the Menzies Conference Centre, but the VICC will be being set up in the Airport Lounge over in Glenn, so if people aren't about, we'll probably be carrying heavy things around in a different College.
Well the day is nearly upon us again! We had a really good turn out last week with lots of 40k, Infinity and Warmahordes going on. What are people in the mood for this week?
