Ok, I didn't finish ICAD (index card a day) last year, but I found something pretty awesome at an op shop awhile ago that is perfect for it this year so I'm definitely doing it this year!
ICAD is a yearly creative challenge that runs from June to July with daily prompts. Anyway, these are my favourites from last year:
The prompt for the first one was 'embroidery'. I covered the card with some collage paper & embroidered some shapes.
I haven't written the prompt on the back of the second card, but I'm going with 'aspect' cos that's what it says on the front lol! And that was mixed media.

So I finished off my pieces for the last week. While was making them though, it occurred to me that some of you might like a squizz at the process of making a mixed media piece(s) so here you go;
1. I taped the pieces together so I can work on them as one piece cos I'm lazy lol!
2. I always start off with collaging the 'canvas' as well as a few colourful scribbles with water soluble crayons & spritz with water.
3. When dry I went in with my black gesso & did a bit of stencilling.
4. I then added blocks of yellow & went over those with either magenta or fluoro pink brush strokes.
5. I separated the pieces added a focal point & did a bit of stitching to finish them off, & voila! Three mixed media pieces to help raise money for artists with disabilities 😊

First time using my head lamp during a power outage! My block is having a planned power outage & the power doesn't come back on til 6:30, so I'm trying out a couple of ideas in my journal until the power comes back on & I can heat my dinner up lol! 🤣🤣
