I think these are birds nests (the plants) but I will have to check incase they are some aerial variety???

In the garden bed. hidden from prying eyes. Pansy and Snap Dragon practice their first dance for their upcoming wedding. ❤️ 💐

This duo is part of a larger project I’m working on. I’m so excited as I’ve been feeling some artblock of late but drawing these flower folk is really lighting my creative fire again! It’s sooo fun imagining what part of thr flower will be what part of their costume/body.

It’s been a little while.. but I’m back after a week in self isolation and a bout of Covid. It’s a good time not only to self-isolate but to self-reflect and dream a little. This piece is called ‘A Joy-ful Picnic’. I love the power of illustration to create any world or scenario we like. In this one I am having a picnic with some of those who I’ve loved and lost over the years. That’s me, the little copper-haired girl clinging to my beautiful mum, and behind us stands my wonderful stepdad (who was also an artist) with my son on his shoulders (they never got to meet). The cats are Figaro (pouring the tea), Minos (the orange cat) and Opus with her scorpion tail.. all pet cats that I’ve loved and known. A few fantasy guests are also included! ✨✨

I have never been as (lovingly) slapped in the face by a book as I have been by @cherylstrayed ‘s Tiny Beautiful Things.

If you have followed me for a length of time you’ll know I struggle with artist block a fair bit these days.
Totally worth a read if you struggle too. Check out “Write Like a Motherf**ker”.

This is going to be printed for my office as a reminder.

Coloricombo/Coloriflori #5 Challenge curated by @estemacleod uses blues, my favourites! The blues to use are seen here in my blue flower garden - cobalt, wistful blue and Wedgewood blue.
The three blue colours are found in a paper collage of a corn flower by Mary Delany who lived from 1700 to 1788. This remarkable artist
only started making her intricate flower collages at the age of 72. In just over eleven years of making flower collages she created almost 1,000 artworks. I am loving reading and learning about some great female artists with this challenge.

We enjoyed a lovely picnic on Sunday to celebrate this end of year. With a fab mix of our illustrator peps coming and going through out the day.....A HUGE spread organised by our Kara. Also a special guest - "Imi" the labrador....who may or may not have cleaned up the meat platter at picnic's end.

An all round fab day. Thanks all who made it out.

Hello everyone.
I would like to invite you all to Lahand, workshop of illustration.

Let me tell you about myself, I am a fashion designer, design teacher and an illustrator.

There is no need to have previous knowledge of drawing, each class we are gonna have a different subject that you are going to develop with your personal style.

I'm a design teacher but we are not going to have theoretical classes, we will set up the design bases (shape, color and composition) according to your class work (while you are developing your drawings).

We will supply you with drawing materials and paper, but you can bring yours if you can ( i personally use mine) if not you can use what we have.

Days:
Thursday 4pm to 6pm.
Saturdays 2pm. to 4pm

It is necessary to confirm your booking for the class prior assistance (ALWAYS).
