Jimmy Twin was a huge part of making the last Homecooked festival happen, and he's got a new project about a group of science heroes (and academics) at www.researchersofjustice.com!

Superheroes not only exist - they are all scientists!
The Researchers of Justice are an esteemed group of scientific superheroes founded by the legendary Professor Justice. Based on their level of funding, these heroes fight crime and all kinds of scientific misinformation.

Sticky are moving to the NIcholson building and could do with some bucks to help them make the move!

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has made a donation to our fundraiser so far. 🥰 Thanks to your generosity and support, we officially hit our first goal of raising $5,000 in only two days! 🥳

Although the essential costs of our move are covered, we could still use your help!

All additional funds raised will go towards:
✴️ new business cards
✴️ advertising our move and new location
✴️ an EFTPOS machine (‼️‼️‼️)
✴️ ongoing operating cost

Donors also have the option to set-up a recurring weekly or monthly donation. Ongoing donations will help us keep the lights on at our new home in the Nicholas Building.

The love and support we have received over the past few days has been overwhelming! 🥲 Sticky has always been run by the zine community for the zine community and the success of this fundraiser means so much to us. 💗

Most importantly, it means we’re able to continue doing what we love best: support the zine community. We are so grateful that you’re all a part of this. 🥰

❤️

After 21 years in Campbell Arcade, Sticky Institute is moving!

At the end of April 2022 Campbell Arcade will be closing for two years due to the Metro Tunnel development. Our new home will be Room 14, Level 8 of The Nicholas Building on the corner of Flinders Lane and Swanston Street - so just 200 metres from our current home! Moving is expensive though, and as this is our first ever move we're running a fundraiser over at https://donate.stickyinstitute.com to help cover some of our costs. We understand that not everyone is in a financial position to donate to us right now, but if you can contribute we’d really appreciate it! We’re hoping to raise $5,000, all donations to Sticky are tax deductible (in Australia) and the funds will go towards things like moving our photocopier and an EFTPOS machine!!

In terms of the move, here the dates you will need to know:

Saturday 19th March 2022 - Last day of Sticky at Campbell Arcade.
Saturday 2nd April 2022 - First day of Sticky at The Nicholas Building.

The shop will be closed for those two weeks while we set up the new space. The new space is more than double the size of Shop 10 and has windows (!!) with a view overlooking Flinders Street Station.

Please drop in to the last Saturday of Sticky in Campbell Arcade to say goodbye to Shop 10.

Long live zines!!

'Christmas Day probably killed a lot of people': Inside the toll Omicron had on our hospitals

Good to see this important collection of first-hand accounts of what's happened to hospital workers, illustrated by our friend Safdar Ahmed.

Many healthcare workers are afraid of speaking to the media, but they are also desperate for the public to know what's been happening in our hospitals. As the Omicron wave peaked in Sydney last month, Background Briefing was following them. These are their stories — in their words — about what t...

BAREBUM BILLY

A quick run through some new comics you might like to get behind, crowdfund-style:

Anthony Pollock of review site Soda and Telepaths is publishing his first anthology, loaded with post-apocalyptic action and lots of talented artists/writers:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sodaandtelepaths/producing-the-end-of-the-world-anthology

Darren Zen Close and Ryan Vella have teamed up for a book that looks about as fierce and diseased as most of Ryan's work tends to be:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/killeroo/oldmanrufus

And very fine editorial cartoonist Glen Le Lievre has illustrated a big fat children's book about a kiddie with a naked bum!

This sorts your Crungemas shopping for 2021. Let us know in the comments if you're crowdbloobing your book/zine/etc?

Hilarity meets high adventure in this irreverent storybook about a little boy who loves to run around in the nude!

Hi Squishface. I came across a little Zine published by you at Drummond St Services the other day. I wish I had taken a photo. Thank you,
Hi there. I have a 14 year old who is super keen to learn comic drawing style... do you run anything like that? Thanks
Hey Squishfacers! Indie Comic Con is being held on December 8th and we need to get the word out! Feel free to share this link on your page! Also click on the link and suss out the workshops that we're running on Sunday Dec 9th. They look pretty dope and I'm pretty excited myself to check them out! Super appreciate any shares to ensure the artist workshops run and get more people into the indie comic scene! Cheers!
I'd like to find out about school holiday classes for kids. My 12yo daughter is very keen to learn to draw characters and comics
would love to join however i live in nsw
Oi just read both the new Squishzines. Excellent work a+ would squish these into my eyes (on my face) again!
Is there a particular pattern to when the monthly drawing nights are run? I only seem to find out about them on the actual day when I don't have much room to fit them into my schedule. I would really love to attend but need to be able to plan a little. Thanks!
