A little movement, a lot of laughter and some very happy little dancers! đź’—

Technique gives you the foundation. But artistry is what allows you to connect.

For Clare, the stage was once something to fear, until she discovered storytelling. For Victor, it was always the place he felt most free.

Two very different journeys, but a shared belief: dance is about more than perfecting the steps. It’s about expression, connection and discovering the artist within.

A special night at Queensland Ballet

Last night, BTQ students attended the dress rehearsal of Queensland Ballet’s, Bespoke, where they had the opportunity to see What Remains, choreographed by Director of Training, Victor Zarallo

Exploring belonging, identity, resilience and the balance between connection and staying true to oneself, What Remains, is brought to life through powerful choreography, music, costume and lighting.

It was incredibly special for students to see Victor’s work on the professional stage and experience the artistry and collaboration behind the creation of a new work.

We are so proud to have Victor leading and inspiring the next generation of dancers at Ballet Theatre Queensland.

Congratulations to Victor and the entire creative and performing team. Chookas to everyone for a wonderful season ahead!

Great training shouldn’t only be a place to succeed. It should be a safe place to get things wrong.

Clare and Victor know from their own professional journeys that becoming an artist means making mistakes, learning from them and finding the confidence to try again.

For young dancers, having educators and peers they trust creates the space to do exactly that, to take risks, stumble, recover and grow before stepping into the professional world.

Because being prepared for the industry isn’t about never failing. It’s about knowing how to find your way forward when you do.

Private inperson and video auditions are available for 2027 training programs.

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Sara Yamamoto from Sendai, Japan, who joined Full-Time Training on secondment.

It was so special to have Sara share her artistry with us, including a performance at Solos Evening to celebrate her final week at BTQ.

It is wonderful to bring dancers together from different places, perspectives and experiences.

Sometimes, it’s the people beside you who make all the difference.

For Miri, Full-Time Training is a place to be challenged, develop her artistry and keep growing, surrounded by teachers who care and dancers who inspire her every day.

And somewhere amongst all that hard work, new people have become friends.

Applications for our 2027 cohorts are closing soon!
Brisbane audition: Saturday 19 September @ 10am
