Surfers First Light

The skyline before the day fully arrives.

A stretch of coast where city and ocean meet under heavy colour and early light.

This piece leans into contrast — warmth against shadow, structure against horizon.

Original: $620 + postage - message the page for enquiries.

Hydromax

This one is about scale.

At 2 metres wide, the wave doesn’t sit quietly on a wall — it moves.

“Hydromax” captures the energy at the point of impact — that split second where water folds over itself and turns light into force.

A statement piece for large spaces.

Acrylic on stretched canvas — 2000mm x 1500mm
Original: $3150 + postage— enquiries via message.

Last Light at First Light

A wide horizon at the edge of day.

The final burn of light across sand and sea before everything settles into blue.

At 1830mm wide, this piece carries real presence — designed to anchor a room and draw the eye along the shoreline.

Acrylic on stretched canvas — 1830mm x 610mm
Original: $930 + postage — message the page for enquiries.

Sandbar 1
A quiet moment where sand and tide meet.

The fine lines beneath the surface hint at movement just passed — water finding its way back to sea.

Works like this bring a sense of openness into a space — light, calm, and a horizon that feels steady.

Weathering The Cape

The tilted horizon is deliberate.

Inspired by the dynamic perspectives captured by Sydney–Hobart race photographer Richard Bennett, this piece leans into the instability of open water — the angle, the wind, the constant pressure of sea against hull.

A work about momentum and holding course.

Acrylic framed on stretched canvas — 800mm x 400mm

Comboyuro Moon
Inspired by an evening on the island when the moon rose heavy over the water and everything else felt insignificant.

Paintings like this aren’t about detail — they’re about that quiet, awe-struck pause when you realise how big the sky really is.

Originally sold at ACRO Gallery during the 2011 exhibition.

Squall on Moreton Bay
Acrylic on stretched canvas — 1200mm x 600mm

Moreton Bay has a habit of changing mood quickly. This piece captures one of those moments — the weather lifting, the light returning, and the water settling.
Panoramic coastal works have a way of opening up a space — the horizon brings calm, light and a quiet sense of distance indoors.

Thank you to everyone who has joined the page and offered support already — it means a great deal.

There’s more to come soon: new work, stories behind the paintings, and a glimpse into the strange overlap between industrial design and art.

If you know someone who might enjoy following the journey, feel free to invite them along. The more the merrier.

Industrial designer by day, artist by night.

I’ve spent over 30 years designing industrial solutions in heavy manufacturing and commercial construction, and just as long sailing the waters of Moreton Bay.

These two worlds — precision and imagination — meet in my studio after hours, where I paint the places, light and horizons that have stayed with me.

Thanks for being here. I’ll be sharing more of my work soon.
