A big thank you to everyone who auditioned to be part of the AudioWork Ensemble from VOX Productions.

We are pleased to announce the successful actors who will be part of the regular castings for the upcoming audio drama - Shakespeare Shorts.

Further casting updates will follow with who in the ensemble is in the next two shows - Merry Wives of Windsor and Much Ado About Nothing.

If you missed out this year, don't worry. Ensemble auditions will open again in June 2027. Congratulations to the team.

Auditions for Breath of Spring are on this weekend! They are still a little lean on male auditionees, so if you know someone who may be suitable, please spread the word. There's a fantastic, large male role in the play.

• BRIGADIER ALBERT RAYNE (“Bertie”)
A retired military man, he is now one of Dame Beatrice’s lodgers. His life is organised along army lines and he is ready to lead the gang’s schemes with precision (and comic fussiness).

Character Traits & Dynamics

• Military Precision: He treats the elderly lodgers as his "troops". He draws up elaborate tactical attack plans, coordinates split-second timetables, and drills his team of lady thieves with extreme comic fussiness.

• The Resident Bachelor: Bertie is the object of a gentle, comedic romantic rivalry between Dame Beatrice and the elegant Lady Alice Miller, both of whom vie for his attention throughout the play.

• Comedic Contrast: The humor of his character comes from the stark contrast between his dignified military stature, his intense fussiness, and the sheer absurdity of the illegal cat-burgling operations he is passionately orchestrating
