so absolutely honoured and so unbelievably happy !!!! this is so completely surreal and such a true dream come true !!!! thank you to everyone who believed in me and supported me i feel so loved !!!

and congrats to everyone who competed !! it was such an incredible night of drag and such a pleasure to share the stage with you all !!!!

i love sporties so much and have always considered it my home so i feel so privileged to receive this title !!!! can’t wait to put on more fabulous drag for you all forever and always !!!!

💜💜💜At ODYS, we know the power of showing up, standing out, and speaking loudly for LGBTQIA+ young people. Wear It Purple Day is a reminder that every young person deserves to feel safe, celebrated, and supported — just as they are.

This year’s theme, “Bold Voices, Bright Futures”, is a call to action. It’s about creating a world where q***r young people don’t just survive, but thrive — where their voices are amplified, their futures are limitless, and their dreams are possible. 🌈

To all the young people in our community: you are not alone. Your voice matters. Your future is bright. And we’ll keep standing with you, every step of the way.

Wear it Purple was marked in Queensland parliament earlier this week with a moving event that brought together young LGBTQ+ people to share their visions for the future – and talk with politicians about the actions needed to improve their lives.

Hosted by Equality Australia, in partnership with Open Doors Youth Service Inc. and the Queensland Human Rights Commission, the gathering highlighted the voices and lived experiences of LGBTQ+ youth.

Our three trans panelists spoke about the life-changing support they received from Open Doors, with one young person sharing that the service helped them stay in school and eventually graduate from university.

Access to gender-affirming healthcare was a key focus, following the Queensland Government’s shock decision to ban new patients from accessing hormone treatments.

The overall message was that trans young people want to just live their lives – free and equal. The evening was hosted by Drag Queen Ladybird Drag, who captivated the audience of politicians and community members with a powerful performance of ‘I will survive’ - Classic!

Attendees left the event inspired and more determined than ever to advocate for change, equality and a future where all LGBTQ+ young people feel safe, supported and heard.
