As a small business owner, I wear a lot of hats.
I source products, manage suppliers, answer customer enquiries, process orders, update websites, create content, manage social media, research new ideas, organise events, handle bookkeeping, monitor inventory, plan marketing campaigns, and somehow still try to find time for family, health, and a little sleep.
That’s why I use AI.
Not because it replaces me, but because it helps me.
AI helps me brainstorm ideas when I’m stuck. It helps me write drafts for social media posts and emails. It helps me research topics faster, organise information, refine website content, plan marketing campaigns, create graphics, generate concepts for images, build lead funnels, analyse data, and streamline repetitive tasks that would otherwise take hours.
Sometimes I use AI to create images. Sometimes I use it to help write. Sometimes I use it to research, plan, organise, or problem-solve.
But every decision, every product, every order, every customer interaction, and every piece of content still comes back to me.
The reality is that small business owners don’t have a department for marketing, a department for customer service, a department for finance, and a department for design. Often, we are those departments.
AI is simply one of the tools that helps me balance the workload so I can spend more time creating, serving customers, supporting my family, and protecting my health, even when it gives me extra thumbs 🤪
AI doesn’t run my business.
IT HELPS ME RUN MY BUSINESS.
And as long as it continues to help me work smarter, create better experiences for my customers, and maintain a healthier balance between business and life, I’ll continue to use it.
❤️ I still do the work. AI just helps me do more of it.
