I’m really excited to share that I’ll be running two school holiday art therapy groups commencing next week - my first programs since officially completing my Masters of Mental Health, Art Therapy!

After spending the past few years working closely with children and young people in therapeutic creative spaces, it feels really special to now bring this work into the community at The Nest Creative Space

School holidays can be a big mix of emotions for kids and teens - the change in routine, long days at home, extra downtime to think and feel. These groups are designed to give them a gentle place to land. A space to create, connect, reset, and build emotional skills through artmaking.

Kids Art Therapy Group (6–12 yrs)
Monday 8 & 15th December
10:00–11:30am

A playful, supportive environment focused on emotional expression, imagination and confidence-building.

Teen Art Therapy Group (13–17 yrs)
Tuesday 9 & 16th December
10:00–11:30am

A reflective space for teens to explore identity, manage stress, and connect with peers in a grounded, creative way.

All materials are provided, and groups are kept intentionally small to ensure everyone feels safe and supported.

If you’d like to register your young person or chat about whether the group is a good fit, feel free to reach out.

I’d love to create alongside them these holidays, find the link to register in my bio 🙂🌷

My pre release collection, 'In Deep' is officially live.

These works were created alongside my Master’s research project/thesis, where I facilitated a four week art therapy group for adolescents and young adults navigating cancer. The research explored how creative expression could reduce isolation and strengthen peer connection, what happens when young people are given a safe space to create, share, and be witnessed by others who “get it.”

After each session, I found myself holding their stories, their strength, their humour, and the emotional weight of the work. Painting became my own way of processing those moments - turning long nights of emotion into colour, texture, and form.

First to introduce is Alligator.

Named after a song that kept me grounded, it holds the heaviness, beauty, and attitude of their shared struggle.

The seven sculpted waves (unintentionally created at the time) ended up reflecting the seven young people who took part in the program. Each wave symbolises their turbulence, resilience, and the connection that formed in that room.

You can explore (and collect) the full body of work through the link in my bio.

Wowee, I can’t believe it.

Today marks the day all my assessments, thesis, and 750 clinical placement hours are done… which means I’ve officially completed my Masters of Mental Health, Art Therapy!!!🎓

To celebrate, I’m so proud to share that my pre-release collection, In Deep, will be exhibiting as part of the Master of Mental Health 2025 Graduation Exhibition, | the space between |

These paintings came to life alongside my Master’s research, where I ran a group art therapy intervention for four weeks with young people going through cancer. Somewhere between the sessions, the waves, and the long nights writing, these pieces became my way of processing it all too.

Each work holds a little of that journey the chaos, the hope, the connection.

From Dark & Stormy’s fog of grief and creative block, to Sick Lads, named after the group chat my participants created - these works reflect the courage, humour, and friendship that emerged along the way.

📍 Mary Emilia Mayne Room, Level 4, UQ Medical School Herston
📅 Monday 17 November | 9 am – 4 pm (public viewing)

If you’d like early access to the catalogue or to collect a piece, you can sign up through the link in my bio 💌

My recent mural at the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital 🌷

Registered Nurse Taneal is a dab hand with a brush, and has transformed bland, clinical walls into an inspirational message of hope and recovery. 🎨

Together with staff, patients, and their families, Taneal set the goal of creating a bright and colourful mural that adorns the walls of the Neurological Rehab Gym at RBWH, aiding patients through their rehabilitation.

"Together we explored ideas, colours, and symbols that best reflected their experiences of resilience, recovery, and hope," Taneal shares.

"Every stage of the process was guided by the focus group's input, and the final design represents not only their stories but also the collective strength of this community.

"It has been such a privilege to bring these voices into the Neurological Rehab Gym, transforming the space into one that carries the spirit of those who use it every day."

After a year of collaborative planning with patients and families at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital Neurological Rehab Gym, this mural has finally come to life 💜

The design draws directly from their ideas and symbols, reflecting themes of resilience, recovery, and hope. Each detail carrying a piece of the conversations that helped shape the vision for this space.

Grateful to everyone who contributed along the way and to and donors for making it possible.
