Three weeks after a shock break up, out of work musician Joey is left without a job, without a girlfriend and without inspiration. For weeks his friends and family including attempt to get Joey out of the slump he is in and help him realise that life isn’t that bad. Joey seems to be improving until he finds out that Holly has a new man, lead singer of hit European rock band Venom for Virgins, Bret
t Deville. But worse for him is that the new man isn’t so new after all, he is a former high school friend and bandmate come back to America to record a new album and make life hell for his former friend. As time passes and the chaos that has become life starts to settle Joey seems to begin dealing with things and moving on with life, but when his mother is involved in a serious car accident, Joey begins to spiral again. However from this tragedy his once morally misguided father rushes to his son and tells him that he can't make the same mistakes he once did and that you have to organise your priorities, never taking anything important for granted and treasure each second. Venom for Virgins release their much anticipated third album and unlike the previous two, it is received poorly by critics and fans. Eventually Joey is offered the contract he thought he wanted all along, however the offer of fame and fortune no longer interests him, a man who has realized that although so much has happened he had one saving grace all along, the one need that counted ‘only the music’.
