Meet Evie from Genkstasy!
Eve Willsteed (he/she/they), the founder of Genkstasy, was born on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland (Gubbi Gubbi country) and had a varied education including home-schooling, play-nature-learning, main-stream high school, TAFE, and University, while also working (mostly in retail), and creating various forms of art (poetry, drawing, photography, jewellery making, costume design). This will be their third theatre work.
Genkstasy is a Non-Binary streetwear label, launched by Evie in Westend, QLD, in 2017, whose purpose is to nurture communities, supporting people in their personal evolutions with unique q***r-focused design that encourages pure self-expression, and a safe space from which self-empowerment can grow. The name Genkstasy, born from melding Ecstasy with Genki (Japanese ‘元気’; meaning life-force/spirit) represents a state of being in such harmony with ones-self and one’s surroundings that we find our Bliss. It’s our aspiration for what the future can be, will be, as we build each other up, and use our shared knowledge to create the world we want to live in. With more joy, more equality, more connectivity to the earth that holds us, to ourselves, and to one another.
People Of Colours (World Premiere) is a slightly raw, mostly wild but totally entertaining theatre production celebrating its World Premier from the 27th to the 30th of May, 2021 at BRISBANE POWERHOUSE as a part of the . Get your tickets!
