Have you ever caught a moment right before it disappeared?
Iām standing under jacaranda trees, watching teenage boys walking on slackline. The trees are spinning around them in purple haze, and the boysātheyāre just there, completely in this moment.
Everything is melting into this color. I know this feeling will disappear any second now.
And actually, I almost missed it completely.
You know that feeling when life moves too fast?
Like flipping pages, switching channelsāeverything just rushing by.
I wanted to photograph jacarandas in full bloom, capture that emotion. But I was so busyā¦
When I finally got there, the blooming was almost over already.
I thought I was too late.
But you know what? When I saw this - that was the āleaving moment.ā
The trees dancing, the boys in the center, that unique purple light. And I realized: I didnāt miss it.
I caught something even more special - the goodbye.
This is what the painting is about.
Finding slowness in our fast-paced world, even just for one breath.
Itās at Albany Creek Library exhibition right now, half-finished, still in process.
Tell me - whatās your āalmost missed itā moment?
