Did you know you can safely dispose of your batteries at Aqualink Box Hill ? 🔋

🔋 Lithium-ion batteries: use them safely and dispose of them correctly

Fire Rescue Victoria is responding to an increasing number of house and garage fires across Victoria linked to unsafe charging practices and damaged batteries. Lithium-ion batteries power many everyday devices, including phones, laptops, e-bikes, e-scooters, power tools and cameras. If damaged or charged incorrectly, they can overheat and cause fires.

Help reduce the risk of battery fires by:
• Using the correct charger and battery for each device
• Unplugging devices once fully charged
• Never charging devices on beds, couches or other soft surfaces
• Avoiding charging overnight or when you’re not home
• Keeping e-bikes and e-scooters away from living areas and exits
• Stopping use of batteries that are damaged, swollen or overheating

♻️ Dispose of batteries safely
We can now accept removable rechargeable lithium-ion batteries (as well AA, AAA, C and D batteries, 6V and 9V batteries and Button batteries) at our recycling hubs, making it easier to safely dispose of unwanted household batteries.

Please be aware that a local event is scheduled on Sunday 23 August in the Surrey Dive area.
🕜 Event start time: 1.30pm
📍 Location: Surrey Dive

As a result, there may be increased traffic, limited parking availability and delays accessing surrounding streets and car parks near Aqualink Box Hill.

If you're planning to visit us on Sunday afternoon, please allow extra travel time and consider arriving earlier than usual.

BIG news for Aqualink Box Hill! We're upgrading ALL cardio machines with brand new LifeFitness equipment!

There'll be limited cardio access during installation but trust us, it'll be worth the wait. The resistance area will stay open throughout!

Here's the breakdown:
