Vitra Campus at Weil am Rhein in Germany is a place where all architecture, art and design enthusiasts have to visit. It is only a 10 minutes ride by bus with one transfer from Fondation Beyeler, designed by Renzo Piano, in Basel. Vitra Campus includes Frank Gehry’s Vitra Design Museum, Zaha Hadid’s Fire Station, Herzog & de Meuron’s Vitra Haus and Schaudepot and buildings by Tadao Ando, Renzo Piano, Nicholas Grimshaw and others.
Kunstmuseum, Basel’s public art museum, has three buildings with the original one exhibiting collection of the benefactors, second building currently exhibiting works of American abstract expressionist, Helen Frankenthaler and the third building exhibiting the works of contemporary Chinese artist Cao Fei.
Fondation Beyeler designed by Renzo Piano and Museum Tinguely designed by Mario Botta are also not to be missed while in Basel.
