Today is AusArt Day and Regional Arts NSW have been campaigning to raise $10,000 to help save their organisation. They have nearly reached their goal thanks to the generous support of our Arts community. Today on AusArt Day, it seemed appropriate for us to share this vitally important message to our own community.

❓Why support Regional Arts NSW❓
Regional Arts NSW advocate so that the voice of regional artists is heard and that they have the same access to opportunities as their city-based peers. They do this through:

➡ Advocacy: They speak to politicians, funding bodies and policy makers on your behalf to make sure regional is considered in decision making around the arts.

➡ Support: They support regional arts through strategic programs, $800K/year in grant delivery and deliver professional development workshops.

➡ Leadership: They represent and work collaboratively with 14 of the Regional Arts Development Organisations (RADOs) to create a robust arts ecology across the state.

If you care about his work, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to their campaign so this important work continues. Every little bit helps!

OpenField 2025 Event Spotlight | OpenField by Night

Berry Showground was transformed after dark for OpenField by Night, offering audiences a rare chance to experience art in an entirely new way.

Joan Ross’ brilliant video installation Colonial Grab lit up the Pavilion’s exterior wall, its vivid imagery sparking conversation and reflection.

On the oval, AUSTI Dance and Physical Theatre presented Nothing More, a mesmerising dance compilation created by choreographers Daniel Navarro Lorenzo, Genevieve Morris, and AUSTI’s 2025 company artists, set to music by Francisco Sonur. With movement illuminated by carefully placed lighting, the performance explored the tension between absence and presence in a deeply affecting way.

As the evening unfolded, visitors wandered among sculptural installations under night skies, discovering familiar works through a fresh lens.

OpenField 2025 Event Spotlight | Eric Avery

Our festival closed on the most enchanting note as Eric Avery filled the room with music inspired by Berry and our surrounding region.

An accomplished musician and dancer with Ngiyampaa, Yuin, Bandjalang, and Gumbangirr heritage, Eric wove culture, story, and sound into an unforgettable performance.

The audience was spellbound — a truly special moment to experience the artistry of such an extraordinary talent.

🌿 It’s Landcare Week — a time to recognise the power of communities coming together to care for Country.

The OpenField 2025 program included many artists involved with protecting our local environment and promoting climate and nature issues we face as a society. Our curatorial vision reflected what Australian artists and thinkers are concerned with and fighting for.

At OpenField, we’re proud to work alongside changemakers like The Scrub Collective, Janet Laurence, Justine Roche, The Dirt Witches, Amethyst Downing-McLeod, Rox De Luca, Akira Kamada, Tree Veneration Society, June Golland and Harriet Goodall to name a few. Their work not only inspires but ensures the message of environmental care, connection, and action is heard loud and clear.

To all the individuals, artists and activist groups out there protecting and nurturing our environment — we see you, we thank you. 💚

OpenField 2025 Event Spotlight | Drink & Draw with Bella Louche.

At the Great Southern Hotel, things got slinky and sketchy in the best way. Guests grabbed a drink and settled in for a night of figure drawing meets burlesque, as the captivating Bella Louche struck pose after pose with signature glamour and poise.

A unique and playful fusion of art and performance — this was life drawing with a whole lot of flair.
