WHAT A DAY!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for Voices from the Edge. 💛

To every artist who so generously shared your stories, creativity, talents and unique perspectives—thank you. Your courage and authenticity made this event what it was, and we are so grateful for the space you helped create.

To everyone who came along, listened, connected and engaged, thank you for being part of this community. We hope you enjoyed the day—but even more than that, we hope it expanded, deepened, broadened and stretched your perspectives in ways that continue long after the event has ended.

A heartfelt thank you to Yarra Ranges Council for their Community Event Funding and to the Uniting Church for their generous grant - both of which made this day possible. Your support helps create opportunities for communities to come together, celebrate diverse voices and build meaningful connections.

Finally, to our incredible team of dedicated volunteers: thank you. Your passion, generosity and countless hours behind the scenes brought this vision to life. Together, you helped create an event centred on belonging, connection and the strengthening of our community through the voices and experiences of those too often pushed to the margins.

We can't wait to welcome you all back next year. Thank you for being part of it. ❤️

With a SOLD OUT event tomorrow parking will be limited. Please allow plenty of time. If mobility is not an issue for you, we’d encourage you to park in the neighbouring school, or opposite the venue in surrounding spaces.
Or of course CARPOOL! That way the fun can begin before you even arrive!

Our hearts are so full to share that Voices from the Edge is now completely sold out!

Thank you to everyone who has booked a place. Your enthusiasm and support mean so much. We can't wait to welcome you for an afternoon of music, art, storytelling, conversation, and meaningful connection.

There's something quite special about bringing together a room full of curious, creative, and compassionate people. We know the conversations, performances, and shared moments will ripple far beyond the day itself, and we're so looking forward to experiencing it all with you.

Your support means more than filling every seat. It helps make Voices from the Edge sustainable as an annual gathering—a place where our community can continue to connect, be inspired, exchange ideas and perspectives, and celebrate the power of creativity to bring people together.

With a full house, we also recognise that everyone experiences events differently. If at any point during the afternoon you'd like a moment to pause and recharge, we've created a dedicated quiet, low-stimulation space where you can take a breather before rejoining the festivities whenever you're ready. We want everyone to feel comfortable, welcomed, and able to enjoy the day in the way that works best for them.

Thank you for believing in this vision and for helping create such a warm and vibrant community. Sunday can't come soon enough—we're looking forward to sharing something truly special with you all. 💛

Before we launch into our jam packed program of music, art, talks and performances, Wurundjeri, Dja Dja Wurrung and Ngurai Illum-Wurrung woman, Stacie Piper will be performing a Smoking Ceremony followed by a Welcome to Country.
From 12.45pm Stacie will invite us onto Country with respect and intention, setting the tone for a day of listening, connection and shared humanity.

With Winter well and truly settled in, we invite you to step inside, slow down, and spend an afternoon immersed in creativity, conversation, and connection.

Voices from the Edge is a celebration of music, art, storytelling, and performance—a space to gather as a community, to listen, reflect, and share in the warmth of being together.

Throughout the afternoon we'll be serving warming mulled wine and a non-alcoholic mulled pomegranate & cranberry drink, perfect for a winter's day. Drink tickets will be available to purchase at the door on arrival.

From 2:10 pm, we'll also share a generous afternoon tea with tea, coffee, and a delicious spread of homemade treats. A voluntary donation towards the event is warmly appreciated.

Whether you're coming with loved ones or arriving on your own, you'll find a welcoming place to warm your heart and feed your soul, where art opens conversations and music brings us together.

On Saturday, 2 August, Pirritu will be joined by the wonderful Loz Irwin Ray on double bass for a special performance at 3:15pm as part of Voices from the Edge at Tecoma Uniting Church.
Pirritu's music is a gentle, honest and deeply moving journey through sadness, love and shimmering hope.

A proud Ngiyampaa songman, his songs honour a cultural journey of reconnecting with land, language and family, carried by a continual thirst for deeper understanding of his people and Country. With folk-inspired instrumentation woven through his distinctive vocals, Pirritu creates music that lingers long after the final note.

This is a set you won't want to miss.
