Tamworth Regional Gallery and Barraba Potters and Craft Guild Inc present this series of workshops that celebrate Grace Crowley. Grace Crowley is one of Australia’s most influential modern artists born in our region.
A leading figure in the development of modernism in Australia, Grace Crowley’s life and art intersected with some of the major movements of 20th century art.
Crowley’s early works reflect the beauty and landscapes of rural Australia, with a focus on the natural environment of her home region. Her later works took art in Australia even more strongly towards abstraction from a female perspective.
Thanks to the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra and sharing the National Collection program - Tamworth Regional Gallery is home to works from Grace Crowley and Grace Cossington Smith until 2027
