Some photos from the Social Crafternoon we had earlier in March. It was a lovely, family friendly day outside with beautiful weather ☀️

We made so many crafts! Bracelets, origami, collage, and paper planes were made, as well as personal projects.

We also had a visit from a very curious duck who was certain our activities were edible 🤣
Luckily we were able to redirect him!

Exciting news! Starting in term 2, Ballarat Art and Craft will be partnering with Respect Connect to run regular creative classes 🎉

Respect Connect is a disability service that fosters independence and personal growth through individual and group supports. Their approach centres on genuine care, respect, and engaging activities to enhance their clients' quality of life.

The classes will cover a range of mediums such as sculpture, painting, print making, beading, and more! ✨✏️🎨🖌️✨

Sessions will be held on Wednesdays during term time. Exact dates and times to be confirmed once we know numbers.

I’m so proud of my new crochet student Tash!

In just 1 lesson, she mastered the chain stitch, single crochet stitch, and double crochet stitch 🎉
With the added challenge of being a lefty in a world where most crochet tutorials are for right-handed folks, Tash thrived with the one-on-one instruction. Next time we’ll learn the triple crochet stitch and start learning how to read patterns.

Tash also chose to purchase a beginner crochet starter kit for $30. Including 3 balls of yarn, a 4.5mm crochet hook, mini ruler, scissors, 10x stitch markers, 2x yarn needles, and a carry bag, the kit is a great way to get started for a beginner. They are available for purchase for any crochet students of Ballarat Art and Craft, and will be brought to your first lesson.

Thank you so much to all of the lovely folks who came down on Saturday for our Woven Pride Bracelet workshop! It was such a pleasure to craft with you. We had a full house with 10 creative people learning a new skill.
