Weaving Connections
Weaving Connections started long ago, not as a name or place, but in action. On the surface it may seem to be all about weaving, however it is so much more. I began weaving, aromatherapy and art/craft over 20 years ago. None of these things were really on offer to me as a child but they were innate, and as I moved through some really difficult times my creativity emerged.
I am a blend of beautiful cultures and people. I come from ancestors who have practised weaving, healing and creating for tens of thousands of years. The art of weaving came through me from them, and was also shared with me by an incredibly gifted Aboriginal aunt. As a Wotjobaluk woman I have been blessed. Over the years I have come to see what an incredibly spiritual practise weaving is, it stills your mind and allows for connection. Connection to spirit, land, people, and animals (because mostly when I weave there is a couple of dogs right by my side, it is calming for them too). When I create I connect to my soul. Connection to soul, spirit, earth, humans and animals is life changing, after all we are all connected. It has helped me on my healing journey.
