Introducing...new author NEIL MACKENZIE who will be attending our book event in 2027!
Neil was raised on the shore of Strangford Lough in Northern Ireland, where he dreamed of being a rock star. Despite being in bands in Belfast, London, Nairobi and Adelaide, fame and fortune remain elusive. Along the way, Neil has been a teacher, an event manager, a start-up founder and a bus driver. Now writing his second book, Neil is coming to terms with being an ‘author’ while continuing to work on the song that will pay off his debts.
His first book, The Hornets’ Nest, is a YA action/adventure. It follows four misfit anthropomorphic insects who form a band and become unlikely stars. But on the eve of a career-changing performance, they are dragged into an extraordinary adventure that forces them to reconsider everything they knew about life, love and what truly matters.

IF you've missed him, WELCOME BACK...JORDAN HAWKEY!

Jordan is a talented children's fantasy author, known for his series the 'Twins of Legend'.
The series takes place in a world inhabited by a myriad of animals, and follow the journey of meercat twins Pan and Samson as they discover they are the prophesized twins said to defeat the tyrannical King Mirthrid.
The series has 4 books so far - He recently launched book number 4, 'The Obsidian Blade'.

A quick update:
We have a couple of workshops and talks in the process of being organised for the event in 2027.
One centres around the importance of editing and possibly a poetry workshop.
If there is anyone interested in doing a talk or workshop around self-publishing or an interesting bookish topic, please make contact by DM.

ANOTHER RETURNING LOCAL AUTHOR..
PORTIA STANTON-NOBLE lives in Mid North SA and has eight published novels, in the genres of Aussie rural noir and time travel romance.
Her first novel 'The Big Dead Dry' is to be adapted to a film.
And 'The Cut Off Road' a standalone murder mystery romance, set in the outback, is about to be released as an audiobook.
She hopes to complete her nineth novel by December.

RETURNING ROMANCE AUTHOR...
Born and raised in rural South Australia, LILLY BARRETT loved writing in school and always thought she’d get back to it in retirement. Having a few weeks to herself 'Eternally Mia’s' was written in four weeks.
After that she was addicted, and now has six rural romance books published. Lilly’s books make the reader believe they are in the story, feeling all the emotions of the main characters.
As an experienced author, there are sure to be many more books forthcoming...

NEW AUTHOR ALERT!!! See her at our book event..
Robyn, writing as TILLEY BAXTER, grew up in Salisbury, in Adelaide’s northern suburbs.

After leaving school early she found her way to Flinders University, studying a BA in social science with a large dollop of Australian history on the side. She went on to complete a teaching degree. In 2011 she spent four years in London, which she enjoyed far too much, before returning to Canberra. She is now back home in Adelaide, because, as the locals all know, it is 'heaps good'.

Her first writing success was winning Dry Rot, a competition held by The Australian newspaper in the early 1990’s. In 2023 her short story, 'Honouring Introdacqua', about the experience of an Italian post war immigrant in 1950’s Queensland received an honourable mention in the EM Fletcher family history short story prize.

While researching her debut novel, she came across what she believes to be Adelaide's first unsolved murder. Her presentation ‘The Strange Death of Mr Buchanan’ was introduced at the 2025 SA History Festival. Robyn is currently working on a book of the same name. Her debut novel ‘At the Hem of the Empire’ was published in 2026.

While in Europe, Robyn developed a strong love affair with Italy, and when not writing can be found practicing all the Nonna skills while dreaming of La Dolce Vita.
