What to do when kiddos aren’t sure about facepaint 💗

I do my best to gauge actual interest and consent of kids before painting them - if they’re unsure, I offer to let them what the experience looks like on their parents (as pictured!), or to first try the sensation of the paint and brush on their arm 🧑‍🎨

Where the unsure ness may be due to sensory needs, my next steps are also informed by my own experience of being a neurodivergent person + being a friend and partner of many other neurodivergent folks 🌈🧠✨

If you interface with ND kids and adults, I’d love to hear what you do or what you’ve seen other professionals do too 🤍 (I would also love to be pointed to any professional frameworks that exist..!)
