Wow Tinsels - that was a show. Jodi Phillis at Tinsel Ballroom last night. Jodi’s performance was sublime - a mix of brand new songs written in the last 6 months and from Jodi’s most recent album “We need to be free”. New songs being performed for the first time live are written in conjunction with the words of Italian artist Gianni Menichetti centered on themes of the life and love of Vali Myers and the Positano region they made home. The new tracks sounded so good. Loved it. It was Jodi’s first solo show for a while - and if you missed out on the Tinsel show keep any eye out for Jodi playing solo sometime soon!
This clip is “It’s not love” performed with ben mason on guitar. Happy Birthday Ben!
As always thanks to all the Tinsels new and OG who came along - you really make the shows special - an amazing energy every time. We will post a little more up soon!

Oh hey! SAT FEB 17 - power pop purveyors HEIR TO THE SQUANDERED MILLIONS supporting JODI PHILLIS!
Just who are HTTSMs? Such a good question folks - but you will totally know and be totally obsessed after they tear it up at the Ballroom. Here are the facts. HTTSM are Ross (Snout), Ewan (Snout), Ben & Jane (not Snout). Ben’s last name doesn’t start with Mc like all the other members. It’s Ben’s birthday that night. HTTSM are supporting Jodi but playing second. Chairs will be moved so you can really feel the power of the 60s via the 90s guitar driven pop vibes. People will dance. Ok!

⭐️JODI PHILLIS ⭐️ HEIR TO THE SQUANDERED MILLIONS ⭐️ SAT 17 FEB ⭐️ Woo!
Jodi Phillis is bringing a new set of solo songs and joining her is as full band!
Jodi is simply one of Australia’s best singer songwriters. A founding member of influential ‘90s band The Clouds - Jodi is bringing a new set of songs to the Ballroom. We have been wanting to host Jodi for quite a while - and cannot wait for this show.
Joining Jodi on the night will be “Heir To The Squandered Millions” the new band for Ross McLennan and with the impossibly long name with all the 60s infused power pop hooks. Here is Ross describing the endeavor “i’m 57 and i’ve just formed a power pop band. so it seems life is more complex than you first imagined. i forgive you, your ignorance. anyway, my old pal ewan mccartney from snout is in the band. my friend ben mason is in the band. and the hot dog girl from outside the punters club in the 90s, jane mccracken is in the band”
We will get the lights down low and actually guarantee you will dance.

JODI PHILLIS - SAT 17 FEB at TINSEL BALLROOM! We can’t wait! Jodi Phillis plays her first solo Victorian show in a little while and is writing and playing some amazing music.
Support for the night will be “Heir To The Squandered Millions” the new band for Ross McLennan and Ben Mason (featuring members of Snout). POWER POP! We will clear the chairs when the full band takes the stage!

Heir to the Squandered Millions is the very long name of the new band for Ross McLennan, Ben Mason, Ewan McCartney and Jane McCracken. It’s peak power pop.

NEXT SHOW - SAT 17 FEB 2024! It’s in a little bit but we are so pleased to announce that we will be hosting JODI PHILLIS and HEIR TO THE SQUANDERED MILLIONS. Jodi Phillis is a pioneer of Australian indi music, founding member the Clouds and is making some of the best music right now. HTTSM is a brand new full on power pop band featuring Ross McLennan, Ewan McCartney, Jane McCracken and Ben McMason (ok no Mc for Ben!). You may know Ross and Ewan from SNOUT.
