TRADIE LADY OF THE YEAR 2026 ✨️
Some news I’m incredibly proud to share… 🩷🏆.
This is actually my third nomination for an Empowered Women in Trades EWIT Gala Award. In 2024, I was incredibly humbled to be nominated for both Tradie Trailblazer and Tradie Lady of the Year, and to receive another nomination this year means more to me than I can put into words.
I never picked up a caulking gun thinking that one day I’d be recognised for the impact I could have beyond the work itself.
I simply wanted to build a career I was proud of.
But somewhere along the way, I realised that being a woman in construction also gives me an opportunity, and a responsibility, to help make the path a little easier for the women coming after me.
Because this nomination isn’t just about me.
It’s about every woman who has ever walked onto a construction site and had to prove she belonged.
The apprentices, tradies, business owners, engineers, builders, project managers, designers, leaders and mentors who are changing the industry every single day.
Women are not just joining the trades anymore. We are shaping them.
And I really believe that when women support women, we create an industry where the next generation doesn’t have to question whether they belong.. they simply know they do.
So I want to use this moment to celebrate all the women in trades, not just myself.
Celebrate her. Recommend her. Hire her. Mentor her. Collaborate with her. Give her a chance. And when you see another woman doing something incredible… tell her.
Because sometimes, a little recognition can give someone the confidence to keep going.
Three nominations over the years is something I’m genuinely proud of, but what means even more to me is knowing that the work I’m doing is contributing, in some small way, to a bigger change.
And whether I take home the award or not, being nominated is already something I’ll carry with enormous pride.
