Tiny Vinyl Collective at its core is a music production house. Everything audio, including audio-focused visuals.

If you’re a musician after professional promo, we do high quality, live-recorded audio, mixed with as much care as a record.

About this session

• A session to update my promo footage, capturing my current live solo setup, focused on corporate gigs.
• A test of different setups with my favourite roaming videographer, Micah. A chance to risk it and make more mistakes than we would in a client session.
• A chance to play with angles and light so we can keep lifting the quality of Tiny Vinyl Sessions.
• Testing some mixing ideas in post production.
• Our first look at what we can do in the beautiful new arts hub space.

On cutting horizontal into vertical.

This is an example of cutting a horizontal video down for socials. The right approach always depends on the goal. If you’re shooting a reel, shoot vertical from the start.

This session was aimed at corporate and wedding clients, so I kept it horizontal (you can watch it on YouTube) and sacrificed a little here on the vertical.

Easier said than done. When things hit the fan, musicians are often either causing the problem or copping the fallout from someone else’s. But there’s a pause between stimulus and response. That bit of daylight between what happens and how you answer is everything, and learning to see what’s actually in your control is a superpower.
