About Us: Michael & Maia

Michael began his dance journey in 2017, mastering a variety of styles including LA Salsa On1, NY Salsa, Cuban Salsa, and Bachata. Over the years, he has competed in prestigious events such as the World Latin Dance Cup in Medellín, Colombia (2019), and the Miami Salsa Solo (2023). His achievements include earning second place in the Salsa On1 Amateur category in Miami and

second place in the Salsa On2 Team division in Colombia. Maia began her dance journey in 2011, mastering styles such as Samba, Reggaeton, Salsa, Bachata, and Chachacha. She has also competed in renowned events like the World Latin Dance Cup in Medellín, Colombia (2019), and the Miami Salsa Solo (2023). Maia’s accolades include being crowned Champion of Chachacha in Miami, earning first place in the Pro-Am Salsa Couple category, and being a finalist in both Salsa Solo in Colombia and Samba Solo in Sydney, Australia. Now united by our shared passion for dance, we are excited to grow the social dance scene here in the Whitsundays.
