Still riding the energy from an inspiring week in Singapore ✨

The conversations, connections, and shared ideas that emerged through the Diversity Futures Think Tank at SIFA continue to stay with us.

From moving together in the studio with local disabled dancers, to exchanging experiences with artists, presenters, and arts leaders from across Asia and the Pacific, we were reminded of the power of coming together to imagine more accessible and inclusive futures for the arts.

Here's a glimpse into one of our community workshops at Esplanade.

✨ 35 Years of Restless Dance Theatre ✨

This week we are celebrating Howling Like A Wolf directed by Zoe Barr (2012)

Developed over two and a half years, Howling Like A Wolf grew from a creative residency between Restless Dance Theatre and Melbourne-based company Rawcus. Following the success of their earlier collaboration The Heart Of Another Is A Dark Forest, the two companies reunited to explore themes of human connection, isolation, body language and the way we “read” one another in the blink of an eye.

Inspired by Malcolm Gladwell’s Blink and the groundbreaking research of French neurologist Guillaume Duchenne, the work examined facial expressions, emotional connection and the complexities of human interaction. Through movement, expression and shared experiences, the performers created a powerful and deeply human work exploring “this terribly significant business of other people.”

Presented at Queens Theatre in 2012, Howling Like A Wolf brought together artists from Restless Dance Theatre, Tutti Arts, No Strings Attached Theatre of Disability and Company@ — celebrating collaboration, inclusion and extraordinary performance.
