While the Roaches scurry through the streets of Adelaide, diligently rehearsing our new ensemble piece and flyering, leafleting and postering, we have heard, on a North-Easterly wind, a summons.

‘Come,’ it says. ‘We want you, we must have you, come to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.’

So we heeded the call and now we’re heading to QTOPIA Sydney Pride Fest!

Qtopia Sydney is a NSW-based organisation dedicated to championing q***r arts and culture. While they work all year round, they host a dedicated arts festival throughout the whole of June, and we are sending Roach Tom there with two solo shows at the end of June, fresh off our Bernadette Parker season (more on that later).

Our first Sydney show is…

THE ART OF STORM-WHISTLING!!!

🥳🥳

With two successful Adelaide Fringe runs under our belt, and Sydney’s own maritime history, this story of seafaring, family and folklore was an obvious choice. If you missed this in Adelaide, or have friends in Sydney, now’s your chance! Grab a ticket, recommend it to a friend, or take a chance on something you’ve never seen. We know you’ll love it.

Speaking of things you’ve never seen, our other Sydney show is a brand new piece - stay tuned… 🐘

The Roaches have been busy!

In between rehearsals and admin for our upcoming show, The Investigation of Bernadette Parker, we have been putting plenty of energy into funding, and have now created a fundraiser with the Australian Cultural Fund.

The Australian Cultural Fund supports independent and emerging artists focused on creating new Australian work. As an independent group ourselves, we are very grateful to make use of this platform. We are grateful, too, for any support you can give us.

Being an independent artist means a lot of our own resources go into the creation and production of our work. Sometimes we get grants, sometimes we don't. Sometimes we get sponsorship, sometimes we don't. In a world where art is being outsourced to machines and only big production companies are making constant profits, independent art is more important than ever. We put a lot into this, and we would be very grateful if you would support our efforts, whether by buying a ticket, supporting the fundraiser, or encouraging your friends to check out our work.

See you on stage!
