Come see Evelyn's KELP ME, HELP ME at the Onkaparinga Arts for the opening of THE BLOOM Exhibition, Friday 6th February from 6pm.
THE BLOOM
6 February - 16 March
Onkaparinga and Red Rover Gallery
The Bloom is a powerful new exhibition responding to the devastation of the recent algal bloom impacting South Australia’s coastline and the collective grief experienced by ocean-loving communities.
Curated by Zoë Brooks, this community-focussed exhibition invites reflection and healing through creative dialogue, exploring our connection and loss of connection with the ocean. Artworks will explore themes of renewal, environmental stewardship, community resilience and the fragility of coastal ecosystems.
The Bloom will feature photography, visual arts and written word as well as performance, sculpture, moving image and community arts.
Please join us to celebrate the opening of this exhibition Friday 6 February from 6pm with an opening speech from Mayor Were, Greeting to Spirit of Place with Karl Telfer, artist performance, Evelyn Roth inflatable installation and Toxic Surf oceanic lanterns.
Licenced bar and light refreshments will be available throughout the evening.
