I am so honoured and still so shocked to receive the SWEAT Female Tech Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the 7NEWS Young Achiever Awards SA

To be honest, I hadn’t prepared a speech because I never expected to win. I was so inspired by the incredible women in my category—Lauren, Aria, and Sanjam—that I felt truly honoured just to be standing alongside them.

3 years ago, I started creating assistive technology because I saw how many people were being left unheard - not because they had nothing to say, but because they didn’t have access to the right communication supports.

This award represents a mission far bigger than me: ensuring every person is heard, understood, valued, and included. It is proof that technology can change lives when it is created with compassion, accessibility and purpose.

Thank you to the Young Achiever Awards, SWEAT, 7NEWS and Fresh 92.7 for recognising innovation that creates meaningful change.

Thank you to my mum and my aunty Marina, the powerhouses behind our administration; Emma and Lara, my sensational speech therapists; Jupiter Supports, whom I am grateful to collaborate and partner with; and most importantly, our clients and families at my mind matters therapy who inspire us every day and are the reason we do what we do.

And to my husband William, you have always cheered so loudly from the sidelines that I’ve never noticed who wasn’t cheering.

Amelia Griffin is proof that one person can make a massive difference. Last night, Amelia was honored at the 7NEWS South Australian Young Achiever Awards for her groundbreaking work with My Mind Matters Therapy.

From teaching herself to code to developing affordable, multilingual assistive communication apps, she is actively fighting to end communication inequality for families navigating autism, aphasia, and dementia.

She is also provides hope and positive, practical ways forward to families following an Autism assessment.

Being named a top young entrepreneur in SA is a massive milestone. Congratulations, Amelia. YOU are inspiring to so many, and this is just the beginning!

We are so proud to celebrate our founder Amelia Griffin on winning the Channel 7 Young 7NEWS Young Achiever Awards SA Female Tech Enterpreneur Award!

🏆 Congratulations to the Winner of the 2026 Sweat Female Tech Entrepreneur Award, Amelia Griffin!

Amelia Griffin of Beaumont is the Founder and Clinical Director of My Mind Matters Therapy, a speech pathology and assistive technology practice she built after an aged care resident with Parkinson's disease told her not to waste her time — that her mind didn't matter anymore. Working evenings and weekends alongside full-time clinical practice for eight months, Amelia taught herself assistive technology design and co-developed two apps: an AAC communication app with over 5,000 personally curated images and multilingual vocabulary across Chinese, Indian, Italian, and Greek, and a Cognitive Brain Training app with 500+ animated conversation videos. Launched in 2024, the apps are now used across the lifespan from autism and aphasia to dementia. Her End Communication Inequality campaign has reached Federal Parliament, and she is collaborating with Flinders University on research into assistive technology and language development.
