We look to old photographs, records and memories to understand its past, while the people who visit, contribute and care for it today are creating the history that others will one day look back on.

Thirty years ago, on the 10th of February, 1996, Ian and Jackie Outram got married here at The Church on The Hill. Their ceremony was officiated by Reverend Wayne Leslie Ireland.

Reverend Ireland had already played an important role in the Outram family's story, having christened their daughter, Emily, in 1993. He would later christen their son, Ryan, in 1998, making him part of several cherished milestones in their lives.

We’re incredibly grateful to Ian and Jackie for sharing these beautiful memories with us. It’s a privilege to help preserve the stories of the families whose lives have been woven into the history of The Church on The Hill.

Work continues inside The Church on The Hill, with the entire interior being re-rendered as part of the restoration.

Re-rendering provides a new protective finish to the walls while ensuring the materials used are appropriate for a heritage building of this age. It’s a substantial part of the current works, particularly given the amount of wall surface throughout the Church.

Once complete, it will give the interior a renewed finish while continuing to respect the way the building was originally constructed.

A flood advice alert has been issued for Old Noarlunga and Port Noarlunga. This video shows the current view of the Onkaparinga River from behind The Church on The Hill.

The SES warns that localised flooding is possible around Old Noarlunga and Port Noarlunga due to floodwater in the Onkaparinga River.

If you're in the area, please take extra care, avoid flooded roads and paths, and keep away from fast-moving or rising water.

Please stay safe and let's look out for one another.

When restoring a historic building, you'll often hear the term masonry.

At The Church on The Hill, the original stone masonry is one of the building's defining features.

Preserving it isn't simply a matter of replacing damaged sections, it requires skilled craftspeople who carefully repair and conserve the existing stonework using traditional materials and techniques wherever possible.

It's this careful approach that helps ensure the church retains its heritage character while remaining structurally sound for generations to come.
