Dear (Facebook) Friends,
First of all, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for the OPUS KLASSIK nomination for the soundtrack of Schwarzes Gold, which I had the privilege of co-writing with Hans Zimmer and an extraordinary team of musicians and collaborators (you know who you are!) It is a great honor and a wonderful recognition of a project that was created with passion, dedication, and a deep love for storytelling through music. The nomination also comes at a particularly meaningful moment in my artistic journey.
After more than two decades performing with Igudesman & Joo, I have entered a new chapter of my creative life. While humor, spontaneity, and communication with audiences will always remain part of who I am, my focus has increasingly shifted toward composition, conducting, arranging, and creating musical experiences where the music itself takes center stage.
Since then, I have had the privilege of working with outstanding orchestras, including the San Francisco Symphony and The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, as both soloist and conductor. These collaborations have inspired me to explore new artistic directions and deepen my relationship with orchestral music.
At the same time, I continue to compose extensively. Alongside large-scale orchestral and film projects, I am currently working on new orchestral works and a solo cello book, exploring fresh ways of combining imagination, virtuosity, and musical storytelling.
Whether collaborating with acclaimed actor John Malkovich, creating film music, performing as a soloist and conductor, writing for orchestras, developing educational projects, or building The Limitless Orchestra, my goal remains the same: to create music that connects people, sparks curiosity, and reveals the limitless possibilities of human creativity.
I am deeply grateful to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey, and excited about what lies ahead. Through these diverse projects, I continue to explore new artistic possibilities, challenge conventions, and help shape the future of music while remaining connected to its rich traditions. I hope you will join me on this exciting journey!
