What a moment ✨
Another hero of mine that I was lucky to meet in the month of May, Alan Menken, the composer of Disney and Broadway. 😍 The most magical songs were written by this man and his writing partners.

I greeted Alan by singing from one of them; ‘let me share this whole new world with you’. Then I ruined it by blabbering as he continued singing 😆 (these meet and greets are super quick).

I told him that when I was learning to compose, I knew that I had to use one of his songs as a model. After a few more words, he ended by saying ‘thank you for singing’. Another meeting to be grateful for, with the man who greatly influenced my musical tastes.

I just missed International Tap Day, but it isn’t too late to celebrate Tap Dancing!
This video was from Covid times! I was working on a routine through lockdown, which would you believe was actually a Ballroom one, with a bit of a Tap fusion. So I put my shoes on to flesh out the rhythms and now I have this cool clip that I love 🤗

May is my Sound Of Music commemoration month it seems!
Not only did I visit and sing in the film locations in Salzburg and went on The Sound Of Music tour in 2025, on this day in 2013, I met the beloved Julie Andrews, my biggest inspiration as a singer. I said this very thing to her and she warmly replied ‘you’re a singer?’ Congratulations, share it with the world“.😍 I will always remember this and this still remains one of my top life moments 💝💗

On this day last year, I was in Vienna, Austria. It was a short and sweet stay in this most enchanting city of music and art - absolutely magical!

1. Piano in the infamous Cafe Central - pianos are in many cafes in Vienna 🙂

2. Mozarthaus & Museum - where he lived and worked

3. Boris Wilnitsky Art dealer / gallery - cool prints opposite our hotel

4. A Ballet school - I just had to acknowledge my love of Ballet 😍

5. St Peter’s Church - art at it’s prime in one of the numerous stunning churches!!

6. Statue of composer Johann Strauss - they really honour their composers and classical music

7. Statue of Beethoven - need I say more!

8. Beethoven Pasqualatihaus - his apartment turned museum and then some items in there such as manuscripts, a bust of his face and his music stand

This time last year I was in Europe! And on this date it was the last day in beautiful Italy, so I am remembering by looking back at the pictures and the songs I had sung. This is O Sole Mio, my favourite Italian song sung on a rooftop in Palermo 🌞🎶

Audition Diary Part 2 ~ In the audition room.

It was a friendly atmosphere; most of the dancers knew each other from classes they take together. I was happy with how I went and also thought I could have done some things more strongly as well.

Audition Diary Part 1 ~ How I prepared 💃

I had a dance audition today! It was a call for amateur dancers for an outdoor production combining dance, aerialists and musicians on a floating grand chandelier!

I work as a junior talent agent and so I am often sending clients details for musical theatre auditions. It was nice to try it as well and it was a fun experience! 😁
Here is my preparation process, from what I brought with me to how I managed health conditions before getting in the room!
