๐๐๐๐ ๐ด๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ is a filmmaker, editor, and screenwriter who began his artistic career as a record cover illustrator. In the early 1980s, he worked in Berlin creating artwork for renowned rock and metal bands such as Kreator, King Diamond, Obituary, Blind Guardian, and S***m. With more than 100 covers, he became one of the most celebrated illustrators in Germany.
Since the 1990s, Marschall has directed music videos and worked extensively as an editor for television and film. He gained international recognition with his disturbing feature debut Tears of Kali (2004), followed by Masks (2011), both considered standout works of German horror cinema. He later co-initiated the anthology German Angst and contributed to Deathcember. In 2022, Marschall shot the experimental mystery thriller BLACK.WHITE.RED. in St. Petersburg under difficult circumstances, as the production was disrupted by the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. Post-production was completed in 2024.His films are known for their distinctive visual style, drawing from German expressionism and the raw energy of European genre cinema.
