Vom 7. bis 11. Oktober 2026 wird Innsbruck wieder zum internationalen Treffpunkt für Naturfilm, Wissenschaft, Kunst und gesellschaftlichen Austausch.

Wir zeigen eine sorgfältig kuratierte Auswahl an Filmen, die berühren, inspirieren und Mut machen. Im Zentrum stehen die Vielfalt des Lebens, unsere Beziehung zur Natur, unsere Verantwortung – und die große Frage: Wie wollen wir mit unserem Planeten leben? 🌎

Und es gibt noch viel mehr zu entdecken: Bei unseren über 30 Experiences erwarten euch Ausstellungen, Führungen, Workshops, Talks und gute Stimmung!

🎬 The Official Nominees for INFF 2026 are out!

For our 25th anniversary edition, we’re bringing you 66 incredible films – including 55 in competition – selected from over 460 global submissions. Selecting this year’s lineup was no easy task; the level of environmental storytelling today is inspiring.

Huge thank you to all the filmmakers who shared their work with us and congratulations everyone nominated! 🙌

Wir bringen großartige Naturfilme aus unserem Festivalprogramm 2025 mit Bezug zur Region und zum Jahresthema „Artenvielfalt“! Gemeinsam mit dem Naturpark Ötztal laden wir euch an zwei Sommerabenden ins Naturpark Haus Längenfeld ein.

„Mit 1.400 Schafen über den Gletscher“ von Jutta Pinsler
Ein raues, tief berührendes Porträt über eine 6.000 Jahre alte Tradition – der legendäre Schafauftrieb über 3.000 Höhenmeter und eisige Gletscher.

„Requiem in Weiß“ von Harry Putz
Eine eindringliche Dokumentation über das Schmelzen unserer Gletscher, menschliche Spuren im Hochgebirge und die Frage: Wie nehmen wir Abschied vom ewigen Eis?

To celebrate Insect Week, we’re looking back at our 2025 festival edition and revisiting two remarkable films that invite us to discover the extraordinary lives of the smallest creatures around us.

💚 „Fabelhafte Insekten: Ameisen“ by Jan Haft reveals the remarkable adaptability, cooperation, and social intelligence of ant societies, while „The Leap Beneath“ by Roman Willi takes us beneath the forest floor to uncover the hidden communities of soil life that sustain entire ecosystems.

Together, these films remind us that even the tiniest organisms play an essential role in maintaining the balance of our natural world.

While human life moves at an ever-faster pace, these small ecosystem engineers have spent millions of years shaping and supporting the environments we all depend on.

Yet beneath the ocean's surface lies a universe of its own - vast, mysterious, and still largely unexplored. Oceans awaken a longing within us. They stir something deep and timeless, a sense of wonder, humility - a connection to a world far greater than ourselves.

🌊 🌍 On this 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗢𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆, we want to draw attention to the beauty, mystery, and fragility of our blue planet. The ocean covers more than 70% of Earth's surface, regulates our climate, sustains countless species, and connects ecosystems across the globe. Yet much of it remains unexplored, and much of it is under increasing pressure from climate change, pollution, and habitat loss.

Stories have the power to inspire protection. They invite us to look closer, to understand, and ultimately to care.

From 7–11 October, the 25th edition of the innsbruck nature film festival will once again bring the ocean to the big screen and reveal places few of us will ever visit and stories that remind us how deeply our lives are intertwined with the sea. Because ultimately the ocean's story is our own.

🌿🎬 Moore im Fokus!

Am 26.05. konnten 250 Schüler:innen von BG/BRG Reutte und Mittelschule und Sportmittelschule Königsweg Reutte im VZ Breitenwang den Film „Magie der Moore“ von Jan Haft ansehen!

Anschließend gab es eine Diskussionsrunde mit

Felix Lassacher - Land Tirol Abt. Umweltschutz - Amoore Projekt (Renaturierung von Mooren, EU Projekt)

Die Kinder konnten außerdem Tickets für die Moor-Spezialausstellung im Naturpark Tiroler L**h bei einem spannenden Quiz gewinnen🙌🏻

Danke an Lebensraum Tirol und Naturpark Tiroler L**h für die Unterstüzung und an natopia für die gelungene Umsetzung des tollen „Moooor-Tags“ 💚

Today, on the International Day for Biodiversity, we celebrate the richness of life on Earth and the stories that inspire us to protect it. 🌿🎬

Before a single film reaches the screen at innsbruck nature film festival, there are heated debates, unexpected favorites, emotional silence — and the occasional sentence: “Okay… but we HAVE to show this one.” 🎬🌍

Our Pre-Selection Jury gathered once again at Villa Blanka to discuss the submissions for the 25th edition of inff, and what a journey it has been.
Filmmakers from around the world entrusted us with powerful, surprising and unforgettable stories. Every film was watched carefully and discussed with great attention.

Unfortunately, we can’t screen every incredible submission. But we can already promise this: will spark conversations, shift perspectives, and send you home wanting to go out and explore. 🌿✨

A huge thank you to all filmmakers and to our amazing Pre-Selection Jury, who traded normal evenings for deep oceans, wild forests and unforgettable cinematic moments. 🙌🏻🍿
