What a beautiful evening! ✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday for À CONVERSA with Thaís Muniz and Dreça Manuel.

A special moment bringing two of our artists-in-residence together in conversation, as they shared reflections on Thaís’ artistic practice and ongoing projects, as well as her first experiences in Angola.

Thaís Muniz is currently in residency as part of our Public Programme, with the support of the Arts Council Ireland.

Thank you, Thaís, for choosing us to be part of this journey. 🙏🏾

We’re looking forward to seeing how her research for New Atlantic Triangulations continues to unfold from this experience in Angola, and where these new connections and conversations may lead. ✨

As we revisit the 12th Edition of the NESR Art Foundation Residency Programme, we look back at Gegé M’bakudi’s journey.

Through mentorship, experimentation, and dialogue, the residency provided the space to refine his artistic voice and develop Transmutation of the Red Earth—a project that reflects on belonging, Angolan identity, and the future of cultural memory.

Revisit with us Denise Luís (Angola) residency journey at the NESR Art Foundation.

Described by the artist as a transformative experience, both personally and professionally, her residency became a space for research, experimentation, and artistic growth, where Cartography of Forgetting first took shape, a project exploring historical memory and the often-overlooked contributions of women to Angola’s liberation history.
