This class is focused on exploring mobility and intuition through the body as well as to give tools for increasing dance explorations and awareness. Exercises are crafted to explore different angles of improvisation technics in order to create full body awareness and sense of community and empathy through dance.

Gustavo Gomes is a performer, choreographer, and filmmaker. With choreographic works presented in venues and festivals such as Art Basel - Parcours, Radialsystem Berlin, Schauspielhaus Köln - Britney X Festival, Frankfurt Lab, Wallraff-Richartz-Museum, Hellerau - Lange Nacht der Museen, P*K Deutz, KOLUMBA Museum, Watou Art Festival, VRHAM Festival Hamburg, ATELIERFRANKFURT, Quartier am Hafen and others. He has been creating his own performatic works with the Gustavo Gomes & Co. and also with dance companies such as Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company, Ballet of Difference and Osnabrück Tanz Theater. Gomes’ approach is in the investigation of speech though dance as well as the incorporation of body into the new thresholds of theatre. His installations and interventions creates a dialog between framed image, rituals and the metaphysics of representation. Gomes has won the Portugal Independent film festival with his film Giselle and has presented films in prestigious festivals such as the Berlin Independent Film Festival, Brussels Independent Film Festival, Thessaloniki , Xavier Hufkens gallery, Cinedance International, Kinesthesia Film Festival, Quinzena de Danca de Almada, IMAP- Moving Image Festival of Sao Paulo, and is a three times winner of the Tarkowski Grant for filmmaking.
