Armenian khachkars have been carved by hand for centuries.

These are part of my grandfather’s work across Armenia.

We know craft.

Hrachia and Knarik’s story began in Iran.

Knarik owned a hat shop — something that always felt ahead of its time. It was there they built their first years together and welcomed their first two children, Ashot and Dianna.

When Dianna was only a week or two old, they took the train to Yerevan. Hrachia had always dreamed of returning to his homeland, and together they made that journey to start a new chapter.

In Armenia, they built their life, welcomed two more sons — Varuzhan and Rostom — and created a home behind the Mother Armenia statue. From everything I’ve been uncovering, it seems their names — and Hrachia’s work — were known throughout the town. People would intentionally pass by their home just to see him working outside, to say hello, and to watch his craft in motion.

A life built across borders, carried by courage, craft, and partnership.

Հրաչյա և Քնարիկի պատմությունը սկսվեց Իրանում — և նրանց միասին կառուցած կյանքը դարձավ մեր ընտանիքի ժառանգությունը։ 🤍

Hrachia, captured in his work — every detail, every moment, a piece of his story. 🤍

You’ve probably walked past his work without realizing it.

Our grandfather was an engraver, whos monuments still stand across Armenia.

This page is about memory, history, and preserving what almost disappeared.

Stay with me - I’ll show you more.

Hrachia and Knarik met after her family moved to Iran from Tbilisi, Georgia. Knarik owned a hat store while Hrachia was a silver artisan. They had their oldest son Ashot, and daughter Dianna in Iran before moving to Yerevan, Armenia where their two other sons, Varuzhan and Rostom, were born.
