Launched in June of 2003, GlobalFunk was the first underground dance music night in the UAE to push the sounds of Drum n Bass, Breaks, and REAL Hip Hop. Its initial aim was to give local talent a platform on which to show its talents and drag them out of the bedroom and into a DJ booth. the following Local Legends have all graced the decks or MIC at GlobalFunk

Headed by Ben McDonald (aka MACH4) and INFUSION pioneer Charl Chaka, GlobalFunk commenced proceedings at Bo***ir before making appearences at Tangerine, Oxygen, Trilogy, Terminal, Submarine, Submarine, Alpha, Nasimi, The Basement, Casa Latina and the mighty iBO. Although the local talent still plays a strong part in any GlobalFunk night these nights were the first to bring International Drum n Bass DJ's and MC's to Dubai and the region. Legends such as Andy C, Roni Size, DJ Marky, DJ Hype, DJ Zinc, Fabio, Goldie, Doc Scott, DJ Storm, Shy FX, Stamina MC, MC Rage, London Elektricity, MCAD, Marcus Intalex, MC GQ, Dynamite MC, LJT Bukem and many more have all passed through a GlobalFunk dance....
