Following the market introduction of the updated Audi RS Q8, ABT Sportsline presented the new RSQ8-S package. With a carefully coordinated power upgrade, a carbon aerodynamics package and selected interior details, the Bavarian vehicle specialist gives the performance SUV an even more dynamic appearance and a more individual character.

At the heart of the package is the ABT Power R performance upgrade. It is tailored to both factory power levels of the RS Q8 and significantly increases output depending on the base vehicle. On the standard version with 600 hp and 800 Nm, power rises to approximately 740 hp and 920 Nm. For the more powerful 640 hp, 850 Nm variant, the RSQ8-S specification delivers around 559 760 hp and 980 Nm. This means that both 600 hp and 640 hp RS Q8 owners receive a suitable performance option with clearly noticeable additional power.

Visually, the extra performance is underlined by a coherent aerodynamics package. A front spoiler in matt visible carbon emphasises the front section, while a glossy black ABT front wheel arch ventilation with integrated RSQ8-S emblem badge creates a distinctive detail at the front axle.

At the rear, a matt visible carbon rear wing completes the vehicle’s lines and sharpens the SUV’s silhouette. The ABT stainless steel rear muffler system with four matt black 102 mm tailpipes integrates neatly into the ABT tailpipe surrounds and rounds off the sporty rear design.

The electronic ABT Level Control optimises the vehicle’s stance and driving dynamics. Combined with the weight-optimised 23-inch ABT HIGH PERFORMANCE IR23 wheels, manufactured using flowforming technology, and tyres in size 295/35 R23 with TPMS, the RSQ8-S offers precise and confident handling that transfers the added performance effectively to the road.

Inside, ABT Sportsline focuses on targeted refinements that subtly but clearly distinguish the RSQ8-S from the standard car. The seat refinement with ABT logo in the headrest and RSQ8-S lettering, an ABT steering wheel badge and a matt visible carbon shift k**b cap form the core of the interior enhancements. These are complemented by ABT door entry lights with logo, RSQ8-S branded floor and trunk mats, RSQ8-S sill plates and an ABT start-stop switch cap. The result is a well-rounded overall package for drivers who want to give their RS Q8 a more personalised and sportily accentuated touch without fundamentally changing the character of the vehicle.

NOVITEC refines the FERRARI DAYTONA SP3

How do you make one of the world’s most exclusive sports cars even more thrilling and more dynamic? You let one of the leading Ferrari customisers do their magic! NOVITEC refined the Ferrari Daytona SP3 with several targeted upgrades, resulting in improved performance, more aggressive looks and a more stylish interior.

The Ferrari Daytona SP3 is powered by the largest twelve-cylinder in the history of the sports car manufacturer from Maranello. To further optimize the performance of the 6.5-liter power plant, NOVITEC developed a meticulously calibrated high-performance exhaust system with metal catalysts. This system is fully thermally insulated, which also has a positive impact on heat build-up in the engine bay and thus on the power delivery as well. This effect can be further optimized with 999 fine gold-plating of the entire exhaust system. The intelligent exhaust gas routing and the reduced exhaust back pressure boost peak power by 28 hp. With an output of 868 hp, the tuned mid-engined car is even more lively and reacts more promptly to throttle inputs.

The NOVITEC sports exhaust for the Daytona SP3 is fitted with an electronically controlled sound management that enables varying the exhaust note from inside the cockpit. The spectrum ranges from decidedly subtle with the system closed to a V12 engine sound reminiscent of motor racing at high engine speeds and with the exhaust flaps open. The NOVITEC high-performance exhaust system is combined with the stock tailpipes.

The NOVITEC NF10 wheels with five delicate twin spokes and hub cap in centerlock styling pictured in these photos offer an outstanding combination of strength and lightweight design. The NOVITEC NF10 rims of size 9.5Jx20 with 265/30 ZR 20 tires fill out the available space under the front wheel arches of the SP3 perfectly. At the rear, wheels of size 12.5Jx21 with 345/30 ZR 21 tires provide superb traction.

TOYOTA NEO86 BY RESULT JUN AUTO JAPAN

The Toyota AE86 Corolla, a mid-80s rear-wheel-drive sports car, gained iconic status through the Japanese television show Initial D. Recently, a Japanese tuner named Result Japan has creatively modified a new GR86 by attaching the AE86’s front end, complete with pop-up headlights, resulting in a striking appearance. This modded coupe, dubbed the NEO86, will be available for preorders starting in the first half of 2026 after the pricing was announced at the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon.

The NEO86 features several aesthetic changes, including new squared-off front and rear bumpers, fender arches, and a hood designed to accommodate the pop-up headlights. While the bumpers appear somewhat out of place with the GR86’s curvy design, their black color helps them blend in, adding a retro touch. Although the kit’s specific modifications remain unclear, the car seems to sit slightly lower to the ground, possibly due to visual adjustments rather than performance enhancements.

The GR86 is equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder boxer engine, delivering 228 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. The integration of the AE86’s front end onto the GR86 has surprised many, as it fits surprisingly well. While the new look may not appeal to everyone, the inclusion of pop-up headlights on a modern, affordable sports car is an exciting development for enthusiasts.

Bentayga ‘X’ Concept revealed at FAT Ice Race as part of new Bentley Partnership

Bentley Motors reveals the new Bentayga X Concept at the FAT Ice Race at Zell am See. This unique Bentayga X Concept has been developed to stimulate and gain feedback for an enhanced off-road capable Bentayga, whilst also celebrating the start of a new multi-year brand partnership with FAT International.

The concept is based on a Bentayga Speed, with a 650 PS 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 engine, with permanent four-wheel drive and an eight-speed transmission. Air suspension is complemented by Bentley Dynamic Ride, Bentley’s 48V electric active anti-roll control system.

However, the stance and presence have significantly changed with forged single piece 22” wheel rims, created by specialists Brixton, with large aspect ratio off-road tyres. The track width has increased by 120mm to enhance stability, and the ride height has been increased by 55 mm, for maximised suspension travel and ground clearance. To accommodate these changes the wheel arches have also moved outboard by 40 mm. The changes lead to a wading depth of over 550 mm and a ground clearance of just under 310 mm.

The exterior appearance of the Bentayga X Concept has been kept functional, with roof-mounted storage and four spotlights to enable longer off-road adventures. In the case of the concept, an electric Bambino-size Go Kart (as used in the FAT Karting League) demonstrates the additional cargo ability. These roof additions bring the overall height of the Bentayga X Concept to 2.49 metres. To the rear of the car the titanium sports exhaust from Akrapovic remains prominent, along with the addition of twin towing eyes at the front.

Japanese wheel manufacturers WEDS announced the start of sale of the WedsSport TC-105X DSR, the latest iteration of their renowned lightweight sports wheel.

Introducing the long-awaited new model, the WedsSport TC105X DSR, featuring a special design that adds depth to the rim. This next-generation rim, made using the double AMF manufacturing method, features AMF on both the inner and outer rims, for a powerful look.

This is a top-of-the-line sports wheel based on the TC105X GT that will be used in Super GT. "DSR" stands for Double Shift Rim, and is a special design that adds depth to the TC105X.
Available in 18-inch sizes from 8.5J to 11.0J.

Tokyo Auto Salon was first established in 1983 as the "Tokyo Exciting Car Show" by the first editor-in-chief of tuning car magazine "OPTION" in order to spread custom car culture around the world.

In 1987 the name was changed to "Tokyo Auto Salon", and the venue changed from the Tokyo International Exhibition Center in Harumi to Tokyo Big Sight in 1997, and then to its current venue Makuhari Messe in 1999, where the event is held in all areas, including the International Exhibition Hall, eleven Event Halls, and outdoor exhibition space. In recent years, the popularity of custom cars overseas, especially in Asian countries, has led to an increase in visitors from around the world. The first event attracted approximately 100,000 visitors over three days, but by 2020, the event had grown to attract more than 300,000 car enthusiasts, and is widely recognized as "the annual custom car festival."

In the early days of the event, many tuner shops focused on tuning and dressing up their cars, and exhibited and sold new parts and technologies, but in the late 1990s, Japanese car manufacturers also began to exhibit, launching their latest models at the Tokyo Auto Salon, and vehicles that were intended to be customized were also exhibited.

In the 2000s, exhibitors from overseas, including European and American car manufacturers, began to appear, and this became an opportunity for the Japanese custom car market to become more widely known around the world.

The increase in exhibitors resulted in a greater variety of displayed products, and in recent years, a wide range of products have been exhibited and sold, from custom parts to automobile-related games, toys and fashion products.

Also, as the event is held early in the year, the motorsports announcements and demo runs of racing machines and new cars in the outdoor exhibition area have become popular contents. In addition, the event has become increasingly more family-friendly, with live performances by popular artists and the Japan Race Queen Awards ceremony.

Now in its 44th year, TOKYO AUTO SALON 2026 will continue to create an attractive environment for a wide range of car enthusiasts, and with the guidance of all relevant parties, will take on new initiatives that will further boost the automotive industry.
