TEDxBITSPilaniDubai
Locally organized, the goal of the event is to leverage the power of ideas to inspire the youth by addressing cross-disciplinary topics and nurturing the notion of a society based on equality, peace and development. These are the people on whose shoulders the weight of the world will rest on in the near future. Based in Dubai, an international hub of business and hospitality, with its state-of-the-art infrastructure and rich culture, it is a city built upon the strong vision of its leaders. TEDxBITSPilaniDubai aims at embracing the youth of its diverse community of locals and expats by exploring the potential of the human mind and sparking threads of thought hoping that they weave into a radical idea. THEME
Most people do what has to be done, how it has to be done. Not many consider choosing the road less taken. The ones who brave uncharted roads, are able to bring about changes in society. Those who think outside the box, are the ones who are pioneers in their fields and achieve their dreams. To build a brighter future, we need to start considering new ways of doing what we already do. Our event aims to discuss unconventional ways through which others have achieved their feats. Join us for the 2017 edition of TEDxBITSPilaniDubai and get inspired to challenge your world view. TED
TED is a non partisan non profit organization devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks. TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 110 languages. Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world. TEDx
The TEDx Program is designed to help communities, organizations and individuals to spark conversation and connection through local TED-like experiences. At TEDx events, a screening of TED Talks videos — or a combination of live presenters and TED Talks videos — sparks deep conversation and connections at the local level. TEDx events are planned and coordinated independently, under a free license granted by TED.
