Tomorrow, August 28, we celebrate Emirati Women’s Day.

Pearls of Her Home began with a reflection on inheritance - on how so much of what endures is passed through women. Across generations, they have sustained the rituals, values and sense of belonging that shape a home and, in turn, a culture.

Zaina Deesi’s artwork brings that inheritance into view through five hands, each representing a generation, gathered around pearls that take the form of dates - bringing together two symbols deeply rooted in the UAE’s history and cultural identity.

For Emirati Women’s Day, collaborates with Emirati artist on Pearls of Her Home — an original artwork and special-edition candle inspired by generations of Emirati women, the enduring symbolism of the pearl and date, and the intimate ritual of bukhoor.

This Emirati Women’s Day, we honor the anchors of our region. In collaboration with Emirati artist Zaina Deesi, Dastaangoi presents Pearls of Her Home, a special-edition candle inspired by generations of Emirati women and the traditions passed from mother to daughter.

Rooted in the timeless ritual of bukhoor, it is a story of memory and inheritance of all that continues to live because it is shared, from hand to hand and from one generation to the next.

Pearls of Her Home by Dastaangoi x Zaina Deesi launches on 25 August 2026, available on the Dastaangoi website, at the Dastaangoi store in Alserkal Avenue, and on Ounass.

We’ve always believed that a scent is only one part of the story. When we create something, we think about the world around it too.

What you see here is custom packaging we created for the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.

We approached the packaging as part of the piece itself, not simply something to place the candle in. The proportions, materials, finishes, and way each part comes together were considered to give the collaboration a distinct presence and make the candle feel fully at home within it.
