My first Ramadan here has been one for the books. The chaos of preparation slowly gave way to stillness. Days unfolded gently. The city seemed to breathe easier, there was no air of urgency or rush. Just people moving at their own pace.

But the past few weeks haven’t been easy.
Abu Dhabi has felt quieter than I’ve ever known it in my one year here. Everything is still moving, and on the surface, nothing has changed. But the spark feels softer. Muted.

But somewhere in that quiet, even as things felt tense, I found myself learning to love this rhythm.
The resilience in it. The quiet fight to carry on.

I once read that we don’t fall in love with places for what they are, but for what they allow us to imagine for ourselves.

And I think that’s true for Abu Dhabi 🕊️
